History

The Medfield Area Recreation Club  (MARC) was established in 1972 by and for the residents of Medfield Estates and Kingsbrooke subdivisions. Each member contributed to buy the property and build the facility. The original facility consisted of a four-lane pool and the pool house. Several years later the pool was expanded to its current configuration. The facility was developed as a center for community activities and has been maintained through the volunteer efforts of its Board of Directors and membership. For the 2013 swim season MARC has partnered with Pool Professionals, who provides operational support, management, staff, and any needed repairs for the facility.

Today the facility consists of a six-lane swimming pool with diving and shallow areas, a separate wading pool, a bath house and shelter, two lighted professional tennis courts, picnic and play areas, and a basketball court. Our corporate area is defined as the area within the boundaries of Chapel Hill Road, I-40, Trinity Road, Edwards Mill Road, Reedy Creek Road, Umstead State Park and Harrison Avenue. This includes the following subdivisions:  Ardmore, Braeloch, Brandywine, Carriage Woods, Hearthstone Farms, Hemingway Forest, Kingsbrooke, Medfield, Royal Oaks, The Lakes at Umstead, Talton Place, Trenton Woods, Trinty Farms, Trinity Grove, Trinity Woods, Windy Woods and Wyatt’s Pond.
